![]() August 18, 2002 was a very special Day, in Madison Township. The Board of Trustees and the Madison Fire Department, held a surprise birthday party for Charles "Pete" Shackleford. Pete was honored on his 80th birthday for his 40 years as an active firefighter for Madison Township. Pete has served in nearly every capacity a person can hold in his 40 years. He had been a lieutenant, captain, and assistant chief. He has run bravely into fires, helped pull people from car accidents and acted as a radio operator. For his dedication to the department and to the residents of Madison, the trustees signed a proclamation stating August 20, 2002 will be known as Pete Shackleford Day. |
